An option you can grasp

Save up to 70% vs US prices.

Bariatric surgery in Mexico has become much more accessible, in terms of pricing, compared to the United States. Patients have seen savings in between 60%-70% of costs even when flying into Mexico and getting their surgery done. Patients may typically see a gastric sleeve beginning at $4,000 USD in Mexico compared to $15,000 USD in the US.

On a general note, Tijuana receives over 2 million visits annually from patients worldwide (most being from the U.S.) thanks to its strategic location as an international border but as well due to decent prices and quality in medical care. As an international medical hub, Tijuana provides excellent medical care in both English and Spanish in a variety of medical fields, including Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery, Bariatric Surgery, Dental Services, General Medicine, and many other specialties.

A patient, however, would need to also account for travel expenses (bus and/or air fare), meal expenses for companion, dietary and nutritional supplements, souvenir costs, and other miscellaneous expenses.

All our packages are all-inclusive! We invite you to have a consultation with us to take a closer look at your specific case.

Check our FAQ video

We want to answer some of the Bariatric Surgery FAQs, as well as put you at ease with all of your worries. At Bari Klinik, you will be in good hands with our top-quality surgical procedures and medical team.

FAQs

  • Can I bring someone with me? Definitely! You may bring one companion to stay with you during your entire stay with us.

  • Is Tijuana safe? Tijuana has faced many challenges when it comes to safety but thankfully, it has made several strides to make the environment safer to both its citizens and visitors from abroad. We aim to keep our patients safe, to that end, you will be situated in safe installations during your stay.

  • I live in another state, how do I get there? Normally, our patients fly over to the San Diego or Tijuana airport where you will be picked up and transported directly to the hospital in Tijuana.

  • What about COVID-19? At this time, we understand that COVID impacts our everyday life in a significant way. Hence, you will be kept in COVID-free facilities. To help us maintain our staff and our other patients safe, we will require our patients and companions to please get a PCR-COVID test done before your arrival with us.

  • How do I cross back into the US? A passport is the best way to go for our transportation team to quickly cross you back into the US. However, if you do not have a passport, you may bring your U.S. birth certificate or residence card along with a valid US ID to cross back.

  • Can you book my flight? Unfortunately, that is not included in our packages. It will be the patient´s responsibility to book his/her flight but we can gladly advise on times and dates for your arrival and departure.

  • How do I prepare for surgery? Your coordinator or surgeon will advise on this. Typically, a patient will have to follow a pre-operation diet for a specific amount of time (varies on a case by case). Patients with certain medical conditions may be required to get approval from their local doctors back home before having the procedure.

  • How long is the stay? Your stay may vary, and your coordinator will advise on that. On a general note, your typical stay will be of three entire days within the hospital and leave on the fourth day back to the San Diego airport.

  • Which procedure is best for me? We will help you out with that. Our goal is to communicate with you to get to know you better and determine which procedure is the most optimal for you.

  • How long is the surgery? Surgery time will roughly be around one hour, but it may vary depending on the type of procedure to be done as well as on a patient´s medical background.

  • What happens if I have a complication while back home? Your surgeon will advise what to do next. However, the surgical team and medical staff run tests before you leave to make sure you do not encounter any complications when you are home.

  • How long is recovery? Recovery times will vary but we have seen that an optimal amount of time for recovery is about 2 weeks after your procedure.

  • Will I have follow-ups? Yes, definitely! Your packages include nutritional follow ups and we are open in case you have any questions beyond your procedure date.

  • Why choose us? We believe in companionship throughout your journey, even more when it comes to the first steps and big decisions. That is why we will be helping you transition into your weight loss journey by physically being there for you during your stay with us, making sure you are not alone through this entire process.
